Creeping middle-age

Dear Dave,

You know you're getting old when you look through your notebook of things to write about and see something interesting but can't remember if you've written about it already...

...and then you think that that, in itself, is worth writing about.

Yours in a woman's world,

Ed.

PS Looking at our wedding photos the other day, Sarah pointed out that her mum was only eight years older than I am now. This was disturbing.

Ha! I realized a while back that I can clearly remember my mom being younger than I am now. I don't know why that bothers me, but it does.

As for you? It may be time to break out the memory supplements. I hear those are very popular for the middle age set. ;)

Conversely, it's strangely reassuring to realise that I'm still younger than my parents were when I was born.

(As for the supplements, I suspect they'd only help enough for me remember exactly how much I've forgotten...)
